River Transport Services (Boat & Barge)

On-Shore Services / Stevedores

Shine Maritime manages facilities that ensures the proper handling of client cargo loading and off-loading of goods from vehicles or stores to our boats/boats/barges.

Our company is looking to expand on opportunities to build more of its’ own private dry port facilities to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide both mechanized options and porter labor for handling. Storage and Warehousing facilities are covered and open and movement of cargo can be moved door-to-door.

Our stevedores or porters are the backbone of most of our loading and off-loading activities for our river vessels on the Nile. In South Sudan, porters are part of an informal union that controls pricing and prevents competition within all ports and requires permission from the union.  Stevedores or porters form the backbone of most loading and offloading activities for river vessels along our Nile River Ports.

Mobile Crane and Forklift Services

With prior arrangements, Shine Maritime, can ensure necessary mobile cranes are available for client safe loading and off-loading of heavy and large loads where manual labor is not possible.

Our company, provides operators and equipment ranging from light forklifts to heavy duty mobile cranes able to lift over 40 metric tons. Examples of large loads include, communication masts, generators and prefabricated accommodation, etc.

Small Boat / Canoe Services

Shine Maritime has small boats to shift cargo along the tributaries where the larger boats/barges and pushers won’t go due to either physical or economic constraints.

Our smaller boats are agile, because physical constraints on the river include narrow channels, water hyacinth or low water levels prevent larger boats/barges and pushers from being able to navigate certain tributaries. Larger operators are not able or willing to travel to certain routes due to cargo volumes does not present a profitable scenario.
